Good health from a mother’s pregnancy to age two is essential for kids to grow up healthy and strong.  World Renew works to provide healthcare, child nutrition, and classes for parents. Together with your gifts, we can help ensure that babies born into poverty get a healthy start.

Our next informal meeting is TODAY, following worship.  The focus of this meeting will be seating in the Sanctuary.  Pastor Mark, Pastor Brian, & Bill Sorensen, Council President will be available.  It is our desire that we remain united in Christ as we go through this process.

 

Happy Birthday!  Children ages 1 year old to 5th grade are invited to visit Ms. Courtney during their birthday week to receive a special birthday prize!

 

Activity Tote Bags are available for kids during worship today and are located in the narthex.  Feel free to grab one as you head into worship.  Before you leave, please return totes with books/toys.

 

Mother’s Day is next Sunday, May 11th.  Celebrate with your mom at our Mother’s Day Breakfast (serving from 8:30 – 9:45 AM).  ALL OUR WELCOME!  Come, enjoy your Calvin Family as we celebrate Mother’s Day together.

 

There are many excellent books to borrow in our Church Library which you may like to take home and enjoy.  These books can be found in the Fireside Room.

 

Puzzles are available in the Fireside Room.  Feel free to share and swap your puzzles.  What a great way to pass the time.  Check them out in the bookcase by the grandfather clock.

 

The Afternoon Bible Study meets this Monday (tomorrow) at 1:00 PM in the Fireside Room.  We will discuss “Why does the Lord ‘Pass Us By?’” .  It will be streamed live on Facebook and available afterwards for those who are unable to attend.  Bible Study meets on the first and third Mondays of each month.  Please join us!  Here is some Scripture to read in advance…  Mark 6:45-52; 1 Kings 19; Exodus 33:12-23

Do you have a graduate in the family that is connected to Calvin?  We would like to honor this year’s high school and college graduates by placing their names and the school they graduated from in the Summer Calvin Caller.  Please either email info@calvin-crc.org, call the office at 231-737-5207 or leave a note in the office letting us know the name and high school/college of your graduate by Monday, June 9th.

 

Our sanctuary is equipped with an Induction Loop Assistive Listening System.  To utilize, switch your hearing aid, cochlear implant, or tactile device to “T” (Telephone) or contact your provider for assistance.

Attention Men:  You have an open invitation to join us for breakfast/prayer at Russ’ Restaurant on Henry St. on Thursday mornings at 8:00 AM as we pray for the needs of the congregation while enjoying Christian fellowship and a wonderful breakfast.

Opportunities to Serve…

We’d like you to share your smile on Sunday morning… We are looking for greeters and ushers to serve once or twice a quarter.  If you are interested, please see Vickie Curtis.

 

Our little ones need more volunteers to care for them in the Nursery on Sunday mornings.  Are you interested in volunteering in this way two or three times per year?  If so, please see Meredith Best or Courtney Kingshott.  If you are currently a Nursery Volunteer, we appreciate you!

 

Are you willing to share a story with our young ones?  Children’s Messages are a part of worship on Family Worship Sundays.  A sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board by the drinking fountain.  Family Worship Sundays (No Children in Worship) are Communion Sundays… Holidays… Summertime.  If you have questions, see Courtney Kingshott.

 

This year’s Baby Bottle Blessing begins today!  By simply filling a bottle with change, bills, or checks you will be helping to change lives and save lives.  Please pick up a bottle in the narthex and return it by Wednesday, May 21st.  Your support allows Muskegon Pregnancy Services to provide FREE services for the community.  “Your change…will help bring change!”   Thank you in advance!

 

Calvin’s Fruits of the Freezer ministry will prepare and package freezer meals on Tuesdays, May 13th and May 20th at 1:00 PM in the church kitchen.   If you are interested in being involved in this ministry, please contact Barb Hoffman at 231-740-3466.   Thank you!

 

Do you have a flower garden?  Would you like to help beautify our Sanctuary during the spring and summer months?  We are looking for one large bouquet for each Sunday.  If you are interested in sharing the beauty from your garden, there is a sign-up sheet available at the Info Center (by the kitchen).  See Maryann Wolffis or Vickie Curtis if you have questions.
