This team leads the church in the maintenance of the building, systems (including electrical, heating, mechanical, plumbing), and grounds to ensure the facilities are safe, in good repair, and the grounds are clean and in good appearance.  Marc Lakatos (current chair).  Maintenance/Custodial, Travis Crouse, email travis.crouse@calvin-crc.org  Meetings held on an as needed basis.

We plan events to help promote fellowship within the congregation and also reach out to the community.  We welcome new ideas/activities that we would organize that could help to promote friendship among members and visitors of our church.  We also encourage you to join us as you are able to in this mission. Bert VanAndel (current chair).

This team stimulates, promotes, and advocates for the missional lifestyle of the church body.  John Konyndyk (current chair).  Meetings held on an as needed basis, but mainly communicates by email.

Similar too small groups, Life Groups are small groups of people that gather together weekly for four to six consecutive weeks up to twice a year. Life Groups emerge from people’s passion around some element in our faith. This may be a group around spiritual disciplines, a Bible study, a group that goes out and serves, or a group that meets around a shared interest or hobby that includes a spiritual component. The purpose of these groups is to grow deeper relationships within the church and to grow deeper in our faith.

Meets every few months to clean out the library that is located in the Fireside Room.  They also order and process books occasionally.  The library has three sections of books: children’s, adult fiction, and adult nonfiction.  There are also a few DVDs as well as boxes with small-group study ideas (containing a book, study guide and related video).  You can stop in anytime and browse the shelves.  Lois Veenstra (current chair)

Shows God’s love to the Calvin Church family and the community.  Baby baskets, get well baskets, sending cards, giving newlywed devotionals, prayer quilts are just a few of the areas the committee is involved in.  It is a very rewarding ministry to all who participate in it.  If you would like more information or would like to be involved see Maryann Wolffis or Jeanne Maycroft (current co-chairs).

Mission Statement:  Hearts & Hands exists to care for one another with kindness, compassion, encouragement and love.

Philosophy:  We believe that this ministry is intended to respond to numerous commands in scripture to love one another (John 13:34); serve one another (Galatians 5:13); carry each other’s burdens (Galatians 6:2);  spur one another on toward love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:24);  pray for one another (James 5:16); encourage each other (I Thessalonians 4:18); and to be kind and compassionate to one another (Ephesians 4:32). This caring ministry exists to coordinate efforts to follow these commands and encourage members of the Calvin family to respond to needs and reach out to each other in love.

Oversees, enhances, and promotes the use of technology in the ministries of Calvin Church.  If you have an interest in joining our team, please see Kurt Wolffis (current chair).  Meets on an as needed basis.

Consists of Prayer Group which meets on Sunday mornings at 9:30 AM in the Fireside Room.  You are always welcome to join us in prayer.  Men’s Prayer Breakfast meets at Russ’ on Henry St. on Thursdays at 8:00 AM.  Prayer Chains – email & Facebook.  If you would like to be added to any of these lists see Vickie in the office or email her at vickie.curtis@calvin-crc.org.
